“Morning Spice”
This creamy smoothie is both soothing and energizing. It’s one of my favorites!

1 cup pure water
2 tablespoons shelled raw hemp seeds
1 teaspoon dry chia seeds
1 large ripe red apple, cored (skin on)
1 large very ripe banana
1/4 level teaspoon ground cinnamon
First blend together the water, hemp seeds, chia seeds and apple until everything becomes creamy. You may still see specks of apple skin. That is just fine. Next, add the banana and ground cinnamon and blend again until smooth. Pour the mixture into a tall glass and garnish with a sprinkling of ground cinnamon. Sip to your heart’s content!
A few tips…
The listed ingredients amount to roughly 16 ounces of smoothie.
Chia seeds are rich in protein and calcium as well as Omega 3 and Omega 6 Essential Fatty Acids. In addition to smoothies, chia seeds are also wonderful for making puddings, cereals and more. I could go on and on, but I’ll save that for another time.
Enjoy!

Seriously! …with a camera, of course. So, what were youuu thinking?! [smiley wink] The Pure Jeevan crew visited our area this past weekend. My husband and I had the pleasure of hanging out at Senbeb Cafe for a few fun hours with Jim Dee, KDcat, Julia (aka “the Jooge”) and local raw foodies, Wysteria and her husband Ryan. We show up at about two minutes in.
The entire video is a treat to watch!

My husband is really good about packing snacks and lunches for himself on workdays, although I will make his meals when possible. I try not to spoil him too much! Whenever I do prep his food for the day, I usually include several things to choose from just in case he stays later than planned or ends up being more hungry than he figured. Following is part of what I created for him one day.
Tomatoes, broccoli sprouts, seasoned avocado mash and slices of
Carrocumber Bread.
Doesn’t it look like a giant lunchable? [giggle]
With that mix, he easily created different combinations and enjoyed a satisfying lunch predominately comprised of live ingredients. Putting something like the above together doesn’t take much time and is fairly simple but also interesting. If I’m remembering correctly, on that same day I also made him a large fruit smoothie and included a couple of tangerines, an apple, about a palmful of raw macadamia nuts (his favorite), and a couple of homemade raw chocolate brownies. He loooooves chocolate.
Maybe I should show you more of what he ate. Yes? Better yet, maybe I’ll be able to get him to show you. Stay tuned!
